A public insurance adjusters main duties are to:
● Evaluate existing insurance policies in order to determine what coverage may be applicable to a claim ● Research, detail, and substantiate damage to buildings and contents and any additional expenses ● Evaluate business interruption losses and extra expense claims for businesses ● Determine values for settling covered damages ● Prepare, document and support the claim on behalf of the insured ● Negotiate a settlement with the insurance company on behalf of an insured ● Re-open a claim and negotiate for additional settlements if a discrepancy is found after the claim has been settled
Training plan
Week 1 to 10: service members will learn the procedures of being an insurance estimator and will complete the Xactimate 1, 2, and 3 online course while being taught virtually and in person by a licensed insurance adjuster. By the conclusion of week 10 service members will be a proficient property insurance claim estimator. Week 11-24: service members will then begin to learn the practices and standards of being an insurance adjuster in accordance with instructor-led training, the online training course “Claim Adjuster Certified Professional” provided by WebCE, and on site training. Week 25: will be reserved to help student prepare for the state licensing exam and reinforce all learning Instructor Qualification
Michael Salvi- over 20 years insurance industry experience both working for the insurance companies and the public. Licensed public insurance adjuster in Maine, Massachusetts, Texas, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, and Louisiana. Assessments
Service members will be tested regularly through the online courses they complete but also at the end by the state regulated insurance adjuster licensing exam. Ultimately it is up to the service member to complete the prescribed courses to move forward in their training and the certificate of completion will be required. Training Outcome
By the end of the 25 week program the service member will be a proficient Insurance claim estimator holding the Xactimate 1-3 certificates and a licensed insurance adjuster in the state of Florida with over 1,000 hours of training and experience. |
